A new College facility “Niiwin Akeaa (Four Directions) Center”, located at 111 Beartown Road, was constructed in October 2004, which houses the administrative and faculty offices, classrooms, computer lab, GIS lab, and fitness center. The Niiwin-Akeaa Center also has a gym, commons area, and meeting rooms.

  

The KBOCC Annex, located at 325 Superior Avenue, houses the Fine Arts Studio, Student Center, and Outreach Programs. The Library/Science Lab Center is located at 409 Superior Avenue, also houses additional office and classroom space.

Computer/GIS Labs

Computers are available for student use during posted lab hours. The terminals have Internet connections, word processing, spreadsheets, database and other programs. Students are given a user ID and password for access to the computers. Printers are available for student use. Students are expected to abide by the computer use policy located in the Student Handbook.


Fitness Center

KBOCC students may utilize the KBOCC Fitness Center at no cost.

Rates:
   $30.00 per month or $150 for six months
   $20.00 per month KBIC member/KBIC employee
   $10.00 per month 13-17 years old (Parent/guardian or adult MUST be present)
   FREE 13-17 years old (KBIC Members)

Library

Library

 

The Ojibwa Community Library collection contains print, audio, video, and digital material. The Library offers Internet access for research as well as a full complement of library materials and services. The materials include items for each of the College's programs, including career and placement programs. The library specialty is Native American Culture, Literature and Art. The library is a member of the Upper Peninsula Region of Library Cooperation which provides direct access to library materials across the region. The library's computer lab also provides access to online library services through the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) Virtual Library. Science Lab

Lab

 

The science lab was made possible by the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) CIPA (Curriculum Improvement Partnership Award) grant. The science lab has eight available working spaces and is furnished with various supplies and equipment. Some of the equipment inventory includes six laptop computers, an incubator, and an autoclave along with other various equipment.
